bon iver at the troubador
Lotti has been in writer land….sleeping really whacked hours and feeling tired as shit…. thank God I’m finished with my latest project and thank even more God my agent loves it. There’s a misconception about agents… as if they love everything their client does. That is simply not true. My agent nails my ass often especially when my head was up my ass. Which is good. Because when she tells me she loves something I know she means it. So we shall see…
Anyway….. I took a time out and went to see Bon Iver on monday night at the troubador. They kicked ass. Way better than I thought they would be live. I was curious to know if he’d be able to sustain the music that resonated with the masses because his first album was so inspired and seemed to come at the right time in his life… well happy to say, he played a new song and it was just as killer as tunes from For Emma. So he’s here to stay. I love seeing genuinely humble people just make music and not get caught up in the rest of the bullshit. At the show I met up with Nick and a couple of his friends – both knew Justin Vernon (bon iver) through their friend Matt who directed the Wolves video which I posted somewhere around here. We sat up in the loft which was good, away from the crowds but the sound was a little vibey from up there. The sound at the Troubador isn’t all that anyway..
Bon Iver did an excellent cover of the Sarah Siskind song “Lovin’ if for Fools.”
And of course Skinny Love
